It is a hearty soup full of history and many beliefs.

A bit of history

It is said that the consumption of bull testicles dates back to King Fernando's time in Spain around the year 1500 when he requested to be given bull testicles or criadillas to favor his virility.

The Chontales department during the colonial era was very livestock-oriented, and many presidents of Nicaragua had their farms where they raised enormous bulls that were fattened up.

Historical records state that at Hacienda Hato Grande, they had more than 70 thousand head of cattle that were fattened up, and they didn't know what to do with the bull testicles, so they decided to make a soup and that's how the bull's egg soup originated.

Nutritional properties

It is a low-calorie and low-fat food, ideal for a dietary regimen, besides its meat being lean, it has a high content of iron and zinc, which promotes the growth of nails and hair and strengthens them, also keeping your skin in good condition.

A curious fact about this ingredient, bull eggs, is that in order for them to have aphrodisiac effects, they must be eaten raw so that the hormone they contain (testosterone) can do its job; other records say otherwise, that simply consuming them achieves the desired effect.
