Brazo gitano
Ingredients
1 pound of Flour
3 tablespoons of Baking powder
20 Eggs
3 ½ cups of Sugar
1 teaspoon of Vanilla extract
1 Stick of margarine
1 teaspoon of Orange zest
1 cup of Jelly
½ pound of Sugar
Strawberries
Oil for greasing
Preparation
Step 1 : To begin, sift the flour with the baking powder in a square mold.
Step 2 : Then, separate the egg whites and beat them until stiff peaks form.
Step 3 : Once the egg whites are at this stage, gradually add the egg yolks and continue beating for 10 minutes, then add the sugar in a rain-like manner.
Step 4 : Next, fold in the flour along with the melted margarine and add the vanilla essence.
Step 5 : Before pouring the mixture into the pre-greased and floured mold, leave about 3 fingers in height.
Step 6 : The next step is to bake the sponge cake at 300°C for about 20 minutes until done.
Step 7 : Once baked, fill with jelly or preferred filling, and then roll the sponge cake as if it were a towel to cut it into a round shape.
