Barley Juice
Ingredients
1 liter of Water
1 Cinnamon stick
5 Sweet peppers
8 Cloves
¼ cup of Barley powder
2 tablespoons of Vanilla essence
1 pound of Sugar
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this refreshing drink, bring the water to a boil with the cinnamon and cloves for 10 minutes.
Step 2 : Once this time has passed, add the barley powder dissolved in a cup of water and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 5 minutes.
Step 3 : Then, remove from heat and let it cool.
Step 4 : Next, add sugar to taste, vanilla, and half a liter more of water.
Step 5 : Let it boil for about 5 more minutes and then let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Step 6 : To achieve a foamy consistency, you can blend it with crushed ice in a blender.
Step 7 : If you don't have a blender, you can place the crushed ice in the jar and mix it in circles with a wooden spoon.
