Ingredients

½ kilogram of Toasted white corn

½ kilogram of Cacao

3 cups of Water

Chili pepper

Clove

Cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare the joy dough, first toast the corn in a skillet for approximately 20 minutes.

Step 2 : Next, toast the cacao.

Step 3 : Once toasted, grind it in a mill until a fine texture is achieved.

Step 4 : Add ground cloves and ground cinnamon to the cacao mixture.

Step 5 : Then, gradually add water to the mixture and knead until a uniform consistency is obtained.

Step 6 : Form approximately one and a half inch diameter balls and set aside.

Step 7 : To prepare the drink, add the dough balls to a pot with 1.5 liters of hot water.

Step 8 : Add sugar to taste and mix well.

Step 9 : Let it simmer over low heat until the balls dissolve completely and the drink takes on a creamy texture.

Step 10 : Finally, serve hot and enjoy this delicious and comforting traditional beverage.
