Ingredients

2 pounds of Ground beef

2 tablespoons of Achiote

2 Onions

2 Chili peppers

2 tablespoons of Beef broth

1 ½ cup of Bread crumbs

1 pinch of Pepper

½ cup of Water

3 Garlic cloves

6 cups of Flour

2 Butter sticks

2 cups of Water

3 tablespoons of Achiote

2 tablespoons of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : In a bowl, mix the ground beef with bread crumbs, grated onion, chopped chili, beef broth, achiote, salt, pepper, and garlic.

Step 2 : Sauté the mixture until well cooked, then let it cool.

Step 3 : To prepare the dough, mix achiote with flour, salt, butter, and water.

Step 4 : Knead the mixture well.

Step 5 : Then, take portions of dough, flatten them to form tortillas, add the meat filling, and close them into empanadas.

Step 6 : Repeat this process with the rest of the ingredients.

Step 7 : Brush the empanadas with beaten egg and water, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes until golden.
